The Punch Bowl Inn

The Punch Bowl Inn’s location in Low Row, Swaledale, is ideal for walking and touring the Dales.

Sited on Alfred Wainwright’s ‘Coast to Coast’ walk and close to the 268 mile Pennine Way, there are a wide range of walks to suit the novice or the most experienced walker.

Gunnerside, Muker, Thwaite and Keld are only a short distance along the valley, while a seven mile drive through spectacular mountain roads and over the stunning Buttertubs Pass will lead you to Hawes, the main market town of Wensleydale, with a working Rope Maker and Dales Museum.

The market town of Richmond is only 11 miles away, famed for its Georgian Theatre, Richmond Castle and many shops and tearooms.

Also of interest is Barnard Castle, home to Bowes Museum and a number of excellent antique shops, as well as a weekly agricultural and traditional street market.

From the 19th May till 3rd June Swaledale is host to the Swaledale Festival which offers a full programme of music, arts and walking in the Yorkshire Dales.
