As with our sister establishment, the Charles Bathurst Inn in neighbouring Arkengarthdale, the Punch Bowl Inn has gained a reputation for providing food of the utmost quality, click here to see a typical menu.

Our commitment to using only the best local and seasonal produce means our lamb and beef are sourced from local farmers, our game comes from the surrounding moors and fresh fish is delivered from Hartlepool six days a week.

The choice of dishes created by our team of experienced chefs changes daily according to availability, but regular favourites include smoked & cured fish platter; butternut squash risotto, pesto & mixed leaves; local lamb shank, lentil du pay, juniper & redcurrant jus; braised beef & vegetable casserole, horseradish mash and Yorkshire curd tart with homemade ginger ice cream.

The inn’s contemporary yet traditional style carries through into the restaurant, with an open fire and a unique wooden bar, designed and crafted exclusively for us by Robert ‘The Mouseman’ Thompson of Kilburn.

Lunch - served daily from 12pm till 2pm (Closed on Monday 23rd & 30th January)

We offer our evening mirror menu as well as a selection of freshly prepared Ciabattas served with mixed salad & potato wedges.

Dinner - served every night from 6pm till 9pm (Closed on Sunday & Monday 22nd & 23rd, 29th & 30th January)

Sunday Lunch - served from 12pm till 3pm

Traditional Sunday carvery - main course £9.45.

Bookings are now being taken for Mothering Sunday - 18th March 2012.

Special Lunchtime Offer - Two course lunch for £12.50 or three courses for £15.00.

This offer will run Monday to Friday until Friday 30th March 2012.

Steak Nights - 6pm till 9pm

The first and third Tuesday of every month we offer a Local rump steak with a choice of garnish for £11.45

New Year's Eve Dinner

Come and enjoy New Year's Eve at The Punch Bowl Inn, we are offering a mouth watering Carvery Dinner for only £37.50 per person. After dinner enjoy our festive Quiz and 'Betterdaze' Wurlitzer jukebox. At midnight toast the New Year with a glass of champagne & homemade chocolate truffles.
